The wildlife-rich Galapagos Islands are a great place to visit at any time of the year. Peak season is generally mid-June through early September and mid-December through mid-January. The park limits the number of visitors to each island to protect the natural habitats, but you're more likely to see more fellow humans during the popular summer travel months.

From December through May, the temperatures are warmer, the sea is calm, flowers are in bloom and sea turtles nest on the beaches. The cooler temperatures of June through November result in nutrient-rich waters that lure fish and seabirds like albatross and penguins. Winds and seas are a bit rougher at this time.
